Unlocking motorcycle PR through the lockdown
Despite the UK lockdown, we have been busy at Holeshot PR creating engaging social media and securing National press coverage for our diverse base of motorcycle clients - gaining coverage in The Independent, The Sun, and The Daily Mirror.
Leading UK electric bike manufacturer, Super Soco, has been proactive in their support for essential key workers. This support enabled Holeshot to achieve substantial media coverage in the Sun on Sunday and The Mirror, alongside regular features in mainstream motorcycling title Motorcycle News. Connected eco-brand GreenMo are partnering with Deliveroo to ‘Keep Britain Moving’ alongside supporting other delivery riders as well as providing support to food bank riders; giving Holeshot even more opportunities to generate positive motorcycle PR during the lockdown.
The World’s Fastest Road Racer; Peter Hickman has been kept surprisingly busy, given his lack of race events, with regular media interviews, fan engagement activities, and videos for the likes of Bennetts. A recent highlight was an in-depth insight into the personal impact of racing cessation, which Holeshot helped to secure with The Independent.
Unarguably Holeshot’s ‘coolest’ client Carl Cox has created a lockdown garage tour from his eye-watering bike collection at his home in Melbourne, which will be published shortly, as well as commissioning us to create a video about one of his supported riders, Kiwi ace Damon Rees. We caught up with ‘Damo’ on the final day before the lockdown begun, taking him to a deserted record-shop in East London to talk about NZSBK, British Superbikes and his famous backer!
A lockdown interview with popular biking personality James Whitham gave customers of the famous Yorkshire bike dealership Colin Appleyard Motorcycles some welcome light relief alongside a trawl through the dealer’s archives. Read '“Whit’s Wonderings” here.
Holeshot has also been keeping fans of their various brands informed and engaged with key clients such as Pirelli, R&G, Datatag and Bike Alert receiving owner-generated content from around the world, much of it from increasingly cleaner workshops and progressing bike builds!
The Holeshot team is massively thankful to their supportive client base and partners who are being innovative in these difficult circumstances, whilst awaiting the resumption of sport in the UK.
