Holeshot enjoys Swedish gold as we celebrate 15 years with Öhlins!

We have been extremely fortunate to have worked with the world's most prestigious suspension company, Öhlins Racing, for 15 years, making them one of Holeshot PR’s longest-serving clients.

From running their official communications across all product groups to managing dynamic road tests, shooting videos, and organically growing their Facebook page to over 100,000 followers… we've certainly lived through some exciting times with this cutting-edge, highly technological company!

Having not previously marketed themselves outside of their enviable racing successes, a meeting with the team at the fantastic HQ located just north of Stockholm back in 2010 saw Holeshot given an array of different tasks, including one of our most exciting opportunities ever - managing the relaunch of the ‘shelved’ Öhlins magazine, Performance.

The previous printed publication had become too costly given the printing and worldwide postage costs, so we made the collective decision to recreate the ethos of the original magazine online with engaging stories and send a teaser newsletter out to all recipients upon publication of each new edition.

Performance gave us the opportunity to understand this (at the time) relatively closed organisation and interview technicians, racers and partners from all over the world. For Holeshot owner Harley, one of his favourite ever work experiences was interviewing World Superbike legend Troy Bayliss and his long-time Öhlins technician Byron Draper, each giving a fascinating account of the other.

We were also heavily involved in the seismic shift as Öhlins entered the ultra-competitive mountain bike market, first with Specialized and then as an aftermarket supplier. This was a carefully considered move, which has paid dividends. Now, they are the must-have equipment for discerning riders and have taken multiple world championship titles! In fact, we kicked off this partnership with an in-depth interview with the Specialized team in the US.

Another interesting project was obtaining photographs of the brand’s many world champions across two and four wheels for an archive celebrating their half-century. This was to be showcased on the web and physically at the factory as a living and growing archive to their successes. You can view an abridged version on the Öhlins website.

We continue to enjoy varied work with the brand, including social media and videos created for the EICMA and Intermot International motorcycle shows and Isle of Man TT, as well as traditional motorcycle PR support for a recent media launch in Sweden.
