Holeshot clients set sights on Guinness World Record

This August, Jonny Davies, AKA JD Stunts, will attempt to break Gary Rothwell’s 25-year-long Guinness World Record for the fastest speed being dragged behind a motorcycle… and several of our Holeshot PR clients are supporting him.

Already a two-time Guinness World Record holder, Jonny is no stranger to extreme stunts, but this attempt might well be his craziest to date. He’ll be using a supercharged Kawasaki H2 SX for the record, which Kawasaki UK has modified to feature a secondary throttle at the rear of the machine to allow him to continue to accelerate to the target speed of 160mph+ while skiing behind the bike!

Of course, such a dangerous stunt needs protection, and luckily, Jonny is sponsored by another of our long-term clients, R&G. They’ve kitted the bike out with a host of their world-leading crash protection to ensure the bike will be protected should anything happen.

Having had several practice runs, during which he’s already reached speeds in excess of 120mph, the official attempt will be at the Ultimate Supercar event at Elvington Airfield on August 18th!

This is a truly unique opportunity for both Kawasaki and R&G, with Guinness World Records always proving a popular story in the press. We’ve supported both clients with pre-event PR, with stories appearing across print and digital media in the run-up to the big day.

Be sure to stay tuned to social media over the attempt weekend as we bring you live updates!
