Holeshot PR help Carole Nash MCN London Motorcycle show to a bumper pre-show coverage haul

Earlier this month, the annual Carole Nash MCN London Motorcycle Show roared into the capital and despite Storm Dennis battering the country, nearly 40,000 bikers made the pilgrimage to the ExCeL Centre to see the latest machines from 18 of the world’s leading manufacturers and rub shoulders with their biking heroes.

Once again, Holeshot PR was tasked with running the pre-show promotion and press office function for the show. Our tenth year in charge, this year we were able to secure more coverage than ever before.

Alongside the traditional biking press, we were able to secure sizeable preview features in print with coverage appearing in major national newspapers including The Sun on Sunday, Daily Mirror, Daily Star, Daily Express and Star on Sunday.

Alongside the print coverage, we were able to secure nearly 50 online previews with the likes of the Evening Standard, Telegraph, Daily Mirror and Londonist (where we were named the second best thing to do on Valentines weekend!) running stories alongside major sites such as Drive Tribe and Boundless.

Of course, in this highly digital world social media is king – which is why we made a big push on social, with over 400 significant mentions being created in the run up from notable accounts; helping to drive attendance and pre-show ticket sales.

Eager to take advantage of the burgeoning motorcycle scene in the capital, we created a unique partnership with the team at the Bike Shed which saw Holeshot PR give ten of their members a VIP tour of the show which saw them chat with TT legend Peter Hickman, learn more about the industry from KTM and Kawasaki and even get a world exclusive viewing of a new pre-production machine from BMW.
